I was about to write here how inspirational the Sam Favata story had been to me. And it was. But then I Googled his name to see what had happened to him, and turns out he was the ringleader in a multi-million Ponzi scheme in Orange County in 2007, which earned him a five-year sentence after he had bilked several high profile investors, including former Dodgers Steve Garvey and Maury Wills . . . .

Update: Favata has seen this story and reached out, and said he’s doing well. Could be another update here in the future.
