This story pretty much speaks for itself. The day I found out Rod died, I talked with the sports editor of the Reno G-J and he said to go ahead and write something for the upcoming Sunday paper. I sat down that night and wrote it in under an hour, and it ran the day after his funeral in Reno. Note: When the picture of Rod putting on the Pittsburgh hat was taken, in the Reno G-J newsroom, I was there with him, standing just off to the side.
