Yard of Death/Sacramento Union/Nov. 15, 1988

To this day, it’s hard to forget the crazy scene on F Street in front of Dorothea Puente’s “Yard of Death that week the bodies were being dug up.” The block was cordoned off with police tape. Onlookers climbed in trees, on top of cars, and packed the areas behind the tape to get a look. The t-shirt sellers were out there early, and stayed for weeks. It was Sacramento’s version of a fall carnival.
