The Beach Boys/Chico State/July 17, 1983

 
I remember the only reason we reviewed this show was because of Interior Secretary James Watt’s negative comment earlier that summer regarding the crowd they’d attract in D.C. The Beach Boys? C’mon! But the show was more historic than I thought. Apparently, Brian Wilson did tour occasionally with the band during that period and was at this show, the significance of which I apparently missed (though I did mention he was there). And drummer Dennis Wilson drowned in December of 1983 . . .
